KNOWING LOVING SERVING

He told them,

“Cast the net on the right side of the

boat, and you will find some.” So they

cast it there, and they were unable

to haul it in because of the great

number of fish.

KNOWING LOVING SERVING

Spring 2023

Dear Friends of the Episcopal Church at Yale,

Happy Eastertide! As we soak in the joy of this holy season, it is my great delight to share good news from ECY:

Our nets are bursting at the seams as more than

200 people celebrated with us during Holy Week!

Indeed, this year we have four times as many students and so much more energy than we did last year. I need your help to nurture, feed and guide this growing Episcopal community full of young, dazzling bright, deeply faithful people. This is indeed the Good News we have been promised, but we cannot meet this moment without you.

Gifts from alumni and friends form a significant portion of ECY’S operating budget. Though deeply affiliated with Yale for more than 150 years, the Episcopal Church at Yale is actually a separate 501c3, which means we have to raise our own private support and manage our own budget; we don’t have access to other Yale funds the way many programs at Yale do. A full 100% of ECY’s operating budget comes from philanthropy. The strength of the Episcopal Church at Yale depends on our generous supporters.

In honor of

the 50 days of

Easter, we are

searching for

50 new donors

to ECY.

Of course the amount of your gift is important, but it is also important to widen our nets as well as to haul them in. If you haven’t made a gift this year to ECY, we hope you will help us achieve our goal and unlock a $10,000 matching gift from an anonymous alum who is excited about our progress as well as our untapped potential.

Every gift to ECY is important. Even tiny gifts show that our support is widespread. Large gifts are also critical. Please give online at www.episcopalyale.org/contribute. For more information, contact me at alison.donohue@yale.edu. ECY needs you in a special way right now. Thank you for your generosity and dedication to the Episcopal Church at Yale.

Gratefully,

Rev. Ali
