Andrew J. Smyth

Andrew Smyth has been a parishioner at Trinity on the Green since 2007 and served on the vestry there from 2017-2020. He has been involved in Trinity’s healing prayer ministry, finance committee, ushering, and Clean the Green initiative, and has worked with Episcopal Church at Yale leaders to develop ties between the two communities in Christ.

Andrew is Professor and Chair of the English Department at Southern Connecticut State University. His research and teaching interests include Early Modern British Literature, particularly the works of Edmund Spenser; Anglo-Irish Studies; Animal Studies; and Secondary English Education. He has taught in Kenya, China, and Egypt, along with conducting research in England and Ireland.
